Back in my day...
You younguns have things so easy now! Why I remember back in my day, we didn't have no fancy schmancy rune trader! I had to loot my runes, unlock them, and then hope that my expert salvage kit would salvage the rune. And that's another thing. Why, back in my day, expert salvage kits didn't work right 100% of the time. No, instead, they worked maybe 50% of the time, if I was lucky! Back in my day, I had to infuse my armor one piece at a time! I didn't beat the flamin' Mursaat with a full suit of infused. Not me, I only had my tunic and leggings infused, and I LIKED IT! And another thing! Back in my day, we couldn't capture elite skills after the fight was over. No, I had to hope that while I was fighting the mob, it would use the ability I wanted. Then I had to hit the capture ability at just that second, or I would miss it and have to do the fight all over again! And I liked it!

Back in /my/ day, black dyes were a dime a dozen. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. They were 320gp a pop.
And we had these newfangled things called "skill charms" and "skill rings". However, they were a passing fad...

Hold up ... I heard that some younguns were giving some of us old timers a hard time ... getting people confused by mentioning young Sean Astin movies ...
Back in MY day ... we didn't even have this 'internet' thing to go out and get infused with ... we had to roll a die ... AND THAT'S NOT A RED OR PURPLE OR BLACK DYE YOU YOUNG INGRATES!!! We rolled a twenty sided die ... and then we wrote down our result ... AND MAILED IT TO OUR FRIENDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ... one round of combat took SIX WEEKS to play! And we liked it!
Damned kids today with thier Goonies are good enough ... with the Cyndi Lauper hopping all about with Cap'n Lou ...

Back in my day we only had three days to finish the game, and if we didn't, we had to wait a whole month before we got to try again. But I don't think we liked it.

Well back in my day ... <before the other day I mentioned in my last post> ... we didn't even HAVE dice ... never mind fancy ones made out of clay! We just had to make up the numbers in our head to see how we did on our 'rolls' ... except we didn't call them rolls ... we called them poofalots ...
So when we were writing our letter to our friends, we had to say ... 'I think ... I just got a 7 ... I think I failed my poofalot ... damnit' ...
AND WE LIKED IT!!!

back in my day, we played games with only zero's and one's. And sometimes we didn't even have the one's. I defeated a red dragon using nothing but zero's. Actually, come to think of it, we didn't even have zero's, we had to use the letter O!!!

atleast my comments are still inline with a RPG.....go play counter strike, there's nothing to unlock....and only skill is involved.

ROFL, What about Indiana Jones, starwars, they are older than the Goonies.
Flash Gordon, now that is a classic cheesy movie.
I pity you, for you have missed out on a great many movies which had poor SFX, but rocked anyway

Even though im still in my teens, I still feel old having avidly played Diablo 1
Apparently, anything Diablo related is a pathetic excuse of a game to many younger than me. (even though it was game of the year 96')
